SUSAN RAO Listened to The Good Earth on CD and can't stop thinking about it. Remember the Pearl S Buck book about the farmer in China? The audio book was excellent as the reader is really good with accents. if you haven't read this book since high school, I recommend you read it again! Currently reading: The Heart is a Lonely Hunter (on CD in car), The Boys of Summer and the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. 18-11-2009 via Facebook
SUSAN RAO Still basking in Duke's victory on Sat. Yes, it was rainy but if your team is ahead you don't mind the rain anywhere near as much. We had a perfect day at the NC State Fair on Friday. And a lovely visit with my mom. Altogether a wonderful weekend! 28-10-2009 via Facebook
SUSAN RAO Just back from a wonderful weekend at my cousin Andi's in Waynesboro VA. We ate too much (Andi is a great cook), slept like logs (no sirens and traffic noises in her peaceful neighborhood), and caught up on family news. The leaves are just starting to turn in the mountains. I think by next weekend they will be spectacular. We don't see our extended family often enough..... 12-10-2009 via Facebook
SUSAN RAO Since I got back from my vacation, I still sleep and eat like I'm on vacation! Hopefully now that Labor Day is behind us, that will change.... Went to see Julie and Julia yesterday. SUSAN RAO Just back from a wonderful two weeks in Sicily! Photos to follow! We had a great time, met lovely people, swam at the most wonderful beaches, and of course ate fabulous Italian food (though Firoze did keep wanting to try the Chinese restaurant around the corner from our hotel. I thought that in two weeks we would see almost everything of note but we did not--so we'll just have to plan a return trip! 31-08-2009 via Facebook
SUSAN RAO Had a lovely conversation tonight with a friend from WAY back. We spent the evening together the night Neal Armstrong walked on the moon--and we spent this evening on the phone talkiing about that and other memories. How lovely to connect!
